Purpose: The purpose of this nutrition section is to give you an idea of what Eating Primal looks like. We want to show you what and how we eat to stay as Primal as possible. Our intention is to give you information on the types of foods we eat, where we buy our food, what the best brands of foods etc… to give you insight on how we fuel ourselves for activities of daily living and working out. It’s all about education on how to live the best life you can, through Eating Primal.
Goals: The goal is to give you a look at what we eat, have some good discussions on all aspects of nutrition, provide you with some research based reading material to keep your mind stimulated and create a place where we can come together as a community and discuss how Eating Primal has changed our lives.
What We Are Not: We are not certified nutrition consultants or RDs, therefore we are not able to prescribe meal plans for you. We cannot detail out a schedule of when to eat and how much to eat. We are not going to weigh and measure our food, as that is something that doesn’t work for us, however it may for you. We found, for us, it works best to determine how much we eat based on how hungry we feel, not how many blocks we “have to eat” for that meal. In addition, we are not looking to debate scientific facts about what we eat or why. We are not saying what we do is the only way to do it “right”. We don’t frown upon other ways of doing it (Unless it’s just down right ridiculous, I mean c’mon grapefruit diets?? Let’s be real.)
So What’s Right and What’s Wrong? Not everything we do will be 100% Primal Blueprint accepted. A lot of nutrition is more personal and unique to what works best for you and your body. So if you see us doing something and have questions, ask! We will tell you honestly our intentions behind it. Then try it out for yourself and see if you can tell a difference…you might be surprised at what you discover. Conventional Wisdom isn’t always correct and we have found, just because your mother told you to do it growing up, doesn’t mean you should. (No offense Moms, love you.) This is about helping you find your way to healthy eating and enable you to stay there and not go off track. We are not here to lecture you one way or another or to convince you of something. We simply want to provide the place to allow you to make good choices with nutrition. There is no definite right or wrong- the only way to fail is to not even try.
