Coach Dave has been working hard behind the scenes to compile a resource of information for those looking to partake in CrossFit as a sport and compete in competition. He has organized the resource into an interactive seminar. There will be two initial seminar dates held on Saturday, May 14 at 8am-9:30am and Monday, May 16 at 7pm-8:30pm.  The seminar is open to athletes of ALL levels and ages. No previous CrossFit competition experience is required as it will benefit the first-timer as well as veterans.  The goal with this seminar is for the attendees to have all the information be able to individually analyze their own performance and set appropriate goals in order to help progress within the sport.  Preregistration will be required through WODIFY and the cost to attend is $10. The resource will be handed out as a take home for all participants.

The resource consists of three parts.

  • PART 1 conceptualizes what it takes to compete in CrossFit, at any level, and reviews a framework to think about the multiple components of CrossFit capacity. It reviews which elements are the most important and why.
  • PART 2 gives several resources to analyze your own standing in those components. How can you test and track your performance? This section allows you to objectively view strengths and weaknesses.
  • PART 3 provides direction. It includes checklists of CrossFit skills and weightlifting numbers that coordinate with varying levels of ability. These checklists can be utilized to set goals and track progress over time as you climb the difficulty levels.

After you have all of these elements in place, I will give you recommendations of how to improve certain areas. However, no specific programming will be released as part of this program. At this point, if you want additional programs or training to help you reach your goals and work through the checklist of skills/weight lifting numbers you can schedule Personal Training with Barry, Bryan or Jocelyn.
