CFG introduces Functional Range Conditioning (FRC) hosted by Alex Brazinski!  Alex will conduct a 30 minute seminar June 1st @ 7:00pm as an introduction/demonstration of Functional Range Conditioning principles aimed at expanding mobility and enhancing athletic performance.  After the seminar, athletes will have the opportunity to sign up for a weekly 75 minute class.  The FRC class will be hosted later in June Wednesday nights from 7:00PM-8:15PM

What is Functional Range Conditioning (FRC)?

Functional Range Conditioning (FRC) is a system of creating, controlling, and expanding usable range of motion, defined as mobility.  FRC uses tension and isometrics to minimize neurological safeguards that inhibit mobility in the first place.  It is designed to progressively overload the muscles at end range to expand mobility and build strength at the end ranges.

How is FRC different from other forms of stretching exercises such as yoga, ROMWOD, etc.?

ROMWOD and basic Hatha yoga postures are aimed at creating PASSIVE flexibility.  Passive flexibility has been shown to decrease athletic performance.  FRC is a form of ACTIVE flexibility that “bulletproofs” muscles, joints, and ligaments at their maximum length through strengthening/mobility exercises.  For example: by increasing the range of strength of your shoulders, then even if you compromise your form during a muscle-up, clean, pull-up, etc. you are less likely to cause injury because those muscles have been strengthened at every angle.

What kind of results can I expect from taking an FRC class?

By taking the Functional Range Conditioning classes you can expect to enhance athletic performance and decrease the likelihood of injury by

1.     Increasing Range of Motion

2.     Strengthening New Ranges of Motion

3.     Creating Proper Joint Functioning

4.     Enhancing Muscle Contractions

5.     Proper Breathing Techniques

Do I have to take the seminar to take the classes?

It is not mandatory to take the seminar first.  However, if you would like more information on the science and method behind FRC, please join us June 1st!  Feel free to contact Alex with any questions: alexbrazinski@gmail.com
