CrossFit Generation has potentially joined the Liberty Box League which is a competitve CrossFit league that has been formed by Trapdoor Athletics. This is big weekend commitment on Saturdays and we need 12 athletes who can commit to competing every Saturday from September 14th – October 12th. If you are interested in competing and have met the standards in the link above, please let me know so we can get teams together if possible. We have 2 weeks to get this done, but if we cannot, we can try and get in next time.
Athlete Registration – You will have until August 1, 2013 to fill rosters for both the Novice and Advanced teams. We have several Affiliates on our wait list – if the twelve athletes who are representing your gym have not each registered by August 1, 2013, you may lose your spot to another box.
League Championship. We are working over the final details and we’ll be announcing our venue shortly – for your planning purposes, please set aside Saturday, November 2, 2013 as the date for the League Championship Match.
Match Schedule. Matches will be held on Saturdays from September 14 – October 12, 2013. Affiliates and athletes should plan on a three-hour window, between 12:30 and 3:30 each week. Affiliates will be asked to open their doors to the League Referee and participating athletes at 12:30; the actual match will begin promptly at 1pm. The Novice teams will compete first, followed by the Advanced teams. Each match will take approximately one hour.
Team Captain. Each team must have a designated Team Captain. Once the season starts, the Team Captain will be the point person for all communication between the team and the League. Additionally, the Team Captains representing the host Affiliate for a particular match will be responsible for greeting the League Referee and the Away Team, and making sure that the necessary equipment is ready for use. To be clear, the Novice and Advanced teams representing your Affiliate will each have their own captain.
