When front squatting it’s very important to remember you’re not holding on to the bar with a tight grip. The bar should be resting on the shelf you have created; on top of the shoulders, slightly pushing against your throat. A great movement to practice so you can get comfortable with this feeling is the Frankenstein squat. To do this movement simply place an empty bar or PVC on the top of your shoulders, against the throat and extend your arms straight out and slightly up. After the bar is balanced perform your squat.
