Double unders involve cardiovascular endurance, speed, coordination, agility, balance and accuracy and is accomplished when rhythm and timing mesh. In order to create the best environment for this situation to be successful, a few things need to be in place.

  • Keep calm and relax your body and face.
  • Work a more aggressive jump than when doing single unders, but mimic your single under jump.
  • Keep the rope close to your sides – don’t let the arms creep up and out.
  • Rope rotation needs to be double that of your single rotation speed.
  • Begin with a single, single, double jump pattern and then go from there decreasing the singles until you are linking them double after double after double.
