Protein is known as the building block of muscle. It is responsible for rebuilding muscle tissue after intense training. But how much do we need? Sedentary individuals should consume at least .8 grams per kilogram of bodyweight in order to sustain their inactive muscle. But CrossFit athletes are from sedentary! We as CrossFit athletes should consume 1.5-2.0g per kilogram of bodyweight. For instance, if an athlete weighs 180lbs, he should be consuming roughly 130-160g of protein per day for proper repair and growth.
