Holidays are fun, but can also bring stress. With Thanksgiving kicking off the official holiday season this week, it’s important to keep a few things in mind. These tips might help you survive the holidays without getting too stressed or falling off the wagon completely from goals.

  • Don’t over-commit…. it’s okay to say no from time to time. Saying no will help keep you from being booked with activities from Thanksgiving to New Years.
  • Be mindful of goal setting during the holidays. Set health/wellness goals, but make sure they are realistic. If not, you risk throwing everything out the window and falling WAY behind over the holidays leaving you feeling defeated come January.
  • Schedule time for yourself… for your workouts or whatever you want, but schedule in this time and enjoy it.
  • Take a few deep breaths when family/shopping/parties get to be too much. 10 deep breaths really do help to reduce the acute stress that hits sporadically throughout your day.
  • Don’t sweat the small stuff. Focus on the good and not the bad. Don’t allow negativity into your world during the holidays or at any time.
