The Man-Maker is a dumbbell complex that involves all the major muscle groups in the body and basically can be summed up by thinking of it as a weighted burpee on steriods. In other words, it’s super fun. The complex flows like this:
Start by placing the dumbbells down to the floor, step the feet out and perform a push-up. Next, perform a row with each arm then step the feet back in under the hips. At this point, the dumbbells should be by the outside of the feet with the chest tall and weight in the heels. Now the positioning is right to go into a dumbbell clean and finish with a thruster. For today, the thruster ends the movement.
While there are a few steps to this movement, it does flow very nicely. You will practice the movement with your coach before the workout begins in order to understand the various aspects and in order to determine the weight best for you. Have fun!
